Psychological Testing

Dr. Bennett provides psychological assessments for adolescents and adults including the MMPI-2, MMPI-A, and Conners 3. Psychological assessment is beneficial in that it can clarify a diagnosis, delineate areas of strength and weakness, or inform psychotherapy treatment goals. A consultation session will be scheduled before testing and then another after to review the results.

 

MMPI- Adult Version

The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) is a psychological test that assesses personality traits and psychopathology. It is the most widely used psychometric test of adult personality and psychopathology.  The MMPI is primarily intended to test people who are suspected of having mental health or other clinical issues or for companies (such as police departments) who require testing as a condition of employment.  The MMPI-2, which has 567 true/false questions.

The MMPI-2 can greatly assist your psychiatrist and psychotherapist with determining a definitive diagnosis for you as well as assist them in treatment planning. This test can provide your clinician with a great deal of information about you in a short period of time which in some cases, can speed up the therapy process. 

 

MMPI-A for Adolescents

The MMPI-A (youth version) for ages 14-18  was developed to measure personality, behavior difficulties, and psychopathology among adolescents. The MMPI-A is also quite lengthy at 478 items.

The MMPI-A is one of the most commonly used instruments among adolescent populations.

Conners 3

ADHD testing for children & adolescents is completed using the Conners 3 Rating Scale. After the test is administered, the results will be reviewed with you and a summary will be given to you to take to the pediatrician or school.
